Celebration, Florida

This week's reading in Louv featured the community that tore down tree houses built by a family. The town said they were in code violation. This made me think of Celebration Florida, the planned community most well known for safety and community-centered activities.

The town's website features tree lined streets and perfectly trimmed lawns. At first one wonders what could be wrong with this place? The laws and regulations on what can and cannot happen on the front porch are clearly dictated. Children's outdoor activities are supervised at all times to ensure proper intellectual development. There is never a short list of activites that can be done.

Would you live here? What do you think the residents are like?
