Lawn Mowers??
Today I was walking up 34th street and I saw someone mowing there lawn. Normally this would not catch me off guard. However, it did just that. With the warm weather approaching I suppose even people in Philadelphia have mini lawns in which they have to do their mowing. The whole process seems so odd to me though. Until that walk I had never seen a lawn mower in the city or noticed the grass growing longer than usual. I guess I anticipated Philadelphia ownership of lawn mowers to be like that of their ownership of sleds. During the snowstorm when people went sledding on the art museum steps there might have been three sleds that 200 people attempted to share. The rest of the sledders had pieces of cardboard and trash can lids. Mowers simply seem out of place in the city!
