I've never really truly thought about where drinking water comes from. At home, I knew the difference between well water and city water, well water smelled gross and tasted even worse and I was glad that my house did not have well water. But I never really thought about where it actually comes from. These last 2 classes have made me realize that the water we drink comes from the rivers that everyone keeps saying are polluted and nasty and people should not be swimming in. I know that the water is filtered and purified, and we have it A LOT better than some countries. Many countries in Africa don't have filtered water and they end up drinking the water that animals go to the bathroom in, and children bathe in. But looking at the river and hearing about all the pollutants that are in it, and then knowing that the water will eventually end up in my water bottle is just strange to think about, at least for me.
