I spent last evening enjoying the wonderful weather with a few friends in Rittenhouse Square. We simply sat on the grass, relaxed, and watched as everyone in Philadelphia as it seemed did the same. Groups sat on checkered picnic blankets, musicians performed quietly or for all to hear, and little children ran and played. I often wonder what an urban childhood would entail; the entire city within grasp with unlimited things to do and see. There is a sense of freedom and independence which I did not quite have growing up only about 20 minutes away in a small New Jersey suburb. Fortunately though, us suburbanites residing in Philadelphia still have time and opportunity to explore the city, especially with this beautiful spring now upon us.
